We are Here

It was possibly the most frustrating of trips we have made so far but now we are here it doesn't seem quite so bad. We still have to sort out the 90 day return thing that has cost us $300 US so far and will cost more before we are done. Late pilots and missing our connector were out of anyone's control so we took that with a grain of salt and had a good night's sleep on Delta!

After an enjoyable trip across the country side from Managua to Leon we got settled into our home and went out for a great supper with friends. We fell asleep to the familiar sounds of dogs, people, trucks and fireworks. Yesterday was another celebration here in Leon so people were out and about and having fun. Only downside was that they couldn't serve any alcohol so Rob and I still haven't had our first Tona! However while getting some groceries we did slip a bottle of Flor de Cana (awesome rum) in with the beans and rice and had a nice drink when we arrived home.

This morning we were up early and went downtown to get reacquainted with the city and the people we know. Although the weather is hot and humid we managed a full morning walking, with a break at an old favourite spot, Pan y Paz for an ice coffee and fresca! So all and all day 2 was much better than day 1.
